University of Southern California is the oldest private researchuniversity in California, USA, founded in 1880. USC is one of themost selective universities in the U.S., only received 25% or 8634than 34,000 first-year enrollees in 2006. USC also has been named "College of the Year 2000" by Time magazine andPrinceton Review.
USC was founded in 1880 as a Methodist university, on landdonated by three Los Angeles residents. In the first year the number of students is 53 and the number of teachers 10 people.At that Los Angeles still has no paved roads, electric lights, and telephones. In 1884 three people, two men and one woman,passed for the first time.
